Boo! Downtown Halloween Howler
Your little ghouls and boos gathered in their best costumes and came ready to paw-ty at our annual Halloween Howler! We count down the days until this event each year as it is a favourite, not only among clients but with our team too! There is just something about seeing your pup’s smiling faces in their costumes that makes our days.
This year, the plan was to eat, drink and be scary, and we were scarily successful! We welcomed your dogs first to our spooky photo booth, and then we hit the party room for a monster mash. Guests were treated to an assortment of yummy snacks, like popcorn, made-for-dogs cake, sausage fingers and Wolverine potion.
We know these events are a great way to have some extra fun, but did you know they’re also a great learning and socialization experience for your dog? Socialization helps dogs understand how to interact with the world around them in a way that is safe and healthy. At an event like our Halloween Howler, your pup gets to experience new environments and situations and encourages them to develop appropriate manners.
Dogs practiced skills like sitting for treats and taking them gently, staying still and calm in the unique photo booth environment and adapting to the physical sensory experience that is wearing a costume. Practicing these skills and being exposed to new things in a safe and encouraging environment like ours goes a long way in helping your dog be the best dog they can be!
